Our first Rhodesian Ridgeback was purchased in 1987 from Eileen and Jack Selbys famous Eilack kennels.

Eilack Rocky, a light wheaten brown nosed male was bred from a bitch called Eilack Koya and a dog Duma of Eilack sired by the Selby’s Lionhearts Rajah of Eilack , an American Import.  Eilack Rocky was also a descendant of Jack Selbys very famous dog Ch Yaligimbas Rajah and Ch Eilack Dukhobar Tarquin.

The name ‘Lionrock’ establishes itself from these famous and well respected roots.

Lionrock was founded in 1995 establishing its quality bloodlines from Champion bitch Eilack Indiana, bred by Eileen and Jack Selby from their top winning sire Ch Ulundi Ushumba of Eilack, 3 times Best of Breed at Crufts, 4 consecutive wins at the prestigious Houndshow and a sire of 13 Champions and twice winner of the Champion of Champions  trophy.

Lionrock also boasts in its foundation, bloodlines lines which include many champions, not only to mention the Selby’s Ch Ulundi Ushumba of Eilack but also their Ch Bizweni Nkosi Mkulu and Ch Eilack Saul as well as Mrs I Fields Ch Rhosaf Ika and Mrs J Parkers Ch Rejan Mandingo who also feature in the bloodlines.

Lionrock puppies are bred from carefully selected bloodlines which speak for themselves by the outstanding achievements of their forebears, which include wins by the founding Dam, Sire and G. Sire of 37 Ccs - 29 Best of Breed Awards and 2 Best in Show at RR Club Championship Shows.

Lionrock puppies also boast of their famous GG Sire, Mrs E Megginsons Ch Shangara Checheni, acknowledged as the top winning Rhodesian Ridgeback of all time in the breeds country of origin, along with 105 Best of Breed Awards and 15 group wins at Champion Shows.
